When shifting from middle to big chainring do you need to push the lever twice??

I'm having his problem, is this due to trimming?

I don't. But find myself pushing the lever and holding it until it switches. Rather than just clicking it like the rh shifter.

I do the pushing twice technique on mine, on my Tiagra equipped bike it can be changed in one push, Sora seems a little more reluctant to change up.
