I have just bought a new wheel for my Trek FX 7.3 hybrid. It is a Shimano RX05 Centre Lock Disc front wheel. This is a replacement for the Bontrager Nebula wheel I wrote off in my recent excursion into the ditch. Before buying it I checked everything matched the spec of the original wheel but forgot one thing. The spoke count. The Bontrager had 32 spokes and the new Shimano wheel only has 28 spokes, although the spokes are considerably thicker. I fitted the wheel to the bike before noticing the spoke count. I am now wondering if the 28 spokes will be strong enough as I am pretty heavy.
I expect I am worrying about nothing but what is the considered opinion please.
