Hi i have been away from cycling for a while.
Just got a hard tail mountain bike and have noticed that the 2 small gears / teath on the the rear wheel {cassette} are offset its a seven gear rear hub.
i was told this is normal on some to make smoother gear changing is this true.

Many thanks.

The teeth on Shimano cassettes are profiled and phased to ease movement of the chain with the indexed (click-sopped) gear shifter.

Thanks for your reply.
I took the rear wheel to a cycle shop this morning and he matched it against a new one they were both the same.
Chap in the cycle shop said he had never noticed the small sprocket were like that and he had fitted many.
Ohh well we live and learn everyday. :bicycle:
