Shimano Nexus 7, issue?

I just took delivery of a hybrid bike with a Shimano Nexus 7 hub gear...

I was having a problem with reaching 7th. I select 6th gear and when I try to put it into 7th, it seems to require a large force.

I think the gears are set-up correctly, I put it into 4th and made sure that the 2 lines match-up. Is there something obvious to anyone that I should do? I don't really want to ask the bike shop yet, as I think it might be a simply silly thing?

Does the indexing need adjusting slightly (using the barrel adjuster on the shifter)?

If the gears are set up right as per the yellow lines then might be sticky cable. Bit of lube should sort it.
