My current bike (defy 4) has an 8 speed sram cassette and I'm looking to upgrade to a 10 speed. Will a shimano cassette work as a straight replacement ?
Thanks in advance

SRAM and shimano components are largely interchangable (with some exceptions, such as trying to use SRAM shifters with shimano mechs and vice versa). You can absolutely swap out like for like cassettes ie 10 speed for 10 speed. I assume you're also changing shifters and have checked that your current wheels will take a 10 speed cassette. It's possible that an 8 speed mech might work with 10 speed shifters as the indexing comes from the shifter and not the mech but I'm unsure if there is a range difference between the two.

SRAM and Shimano cassettes are compatible, so no worries there.
Personally, I'd splash the cash on better wheels, rather than going to 10 speed, but that's just me.
