The entry level Shimano brifters on my B'Twin Triban 3 are getting worn out. Recommendations for replacements when the time comes?

Assuming it is eight speed it will have to be another Shimano 8 speed shifter. How are your current ones getting worn out?

Indeed , they should last for years !, my 2300 shifter lasted a good 5 years in al weathers and maybe 3-4 000 miles a year before the LBS said a bit was worn and needed a longer lever throw for a bigger sprocket .Guy at merica cc says he has stripped a sora shifter to increase the tension .
Its more likely that they need recabling
If it does need replacing then i would look at claris as it has a lever rather than a button shifter or even microshift as the latest triban comes with .

@KneesUp I read a review earlier with a favourable outcome bar the rubbers. I am thinking of the 9sp version, if i read enough to say they are better than the current sora or previous 9sp tiagra

Yes, it might well be the cables. I will change those soonish. Still it's useful to know about Microshift. Thanks all.

Another good bet is to give the insides of the shifters a good cleanout... some people use WD40, but it might be better to use an aerosol degreaser. Then relube the moving parts.

I've never had to do this though, so it's probably worth having a thorough Google.
