THE RIBBLE VALLEY HOOTER!!
Hello.
i am new to this forum & also i am new to cycling this time around!.
So this is my first post , & its a question on the b/b on the ribble cycle i purchased s/hand 2 weeks ago.

Its fitted with a sm-fc 5600 bci 37x24 road b/brkt.

When cleaning the bike , i noticed there was a 2mm float on the cranks of the bike !, the bike itself runs very smooth & i wouldnt say its badly worn in any way, is there anyway i can correct this problem ?, or is it just a case of getting a new one fitted , i am going to take the old one out when i purchased the right bbrkt removal tool.
The bb fitted at the moment is no longer available im led to believe , will the shimano 6800bbrkt will fit at £13.99?.

:welcome: There shouldn't be any float on a Hollowtech BB unless someone has left off a spacer.
Try releasing the 2 clamp bolts on the non-drive pedal arm then turning the (plastic?) preload nut in to remove the float and retighten the 2 clamp bolts.

Thankyou, i did think that after watching a few vids on u tube about the preload nut!, i will give it a go when i have the right tools, i dont think there should be any spacers on installation, evrything is new to me , things have moved on in 12 years or so, , i hope you are right for a easy fix thankyou for the reply
