They will work perfectly together.

Shimano compatibility charts can be confusing/misleading and not always complete in terms of information provision - there have been minor changes in brake pull cable ratio and rear mechs' official cassette sprocket design range, which they tried to distinguish in such charts, which did not help clarity and added to the confusion.

Yes, as RAFN says It'll work perfectly when my 5600 cage snapped it was replaced with a 5700 that was about 20,000miles ago.
