*sigh* what can you say, it's just so disappointing to find people who find this acceptable & yet another reason why I point blank refuse to use a shared cycle path unless running alongside a motorway type A road. If you ride on the road someone will tell you that you should be on the path. By the same token if you ride on the path you'll get someone telling you that you should ride on the road. It just goes to show how much intolerance & complete animosity has been provoked by reckless riders & the press have managed to produce.

I'm glad the rider is okay but I disappear at the intolerance lance & lack of willingness to understand people that seems to be developing in this country.

Some **** of a cyclist pushed one of my mates off the cycle path and into the road. She was skating along the cycle path, as she's perfectly entitled to do.

I dont mind peds and joggers, etc.. its when people blunder into the cyclepath last second or are rude that irks me.. if someone moves over for me (as people often do, even without the bell) I try and say thankyou, or smile and nod.

Exactly what happened to me a couple of years ago. I was ambling along a shared use path and in front of me were an older couple walking along. I slowed right down and rang my bell to let them know I was there but no response - no problem, I thought, maybe they're a little hard of hearing. I tried again and still nothing. I then said 'excuse me please' and finally the man turned round and told me I should be on the road. This was right by a sign indicating that is was a shared facility. Presumably he didn't see it or maybe didn't know what it meant.

There's a shared use path along Margate seafront which can be good when it's quiet, but in summer it gets so chock full with people that it's better just to stick to the road.

Anyway, I'm glad the cyclist is ok - that could've been very nasty.
