Just came across this on Facebook; there is a thread in the single speed forum on these started back in 2009, but looks like they have a new range that includes proper hub geared  bikes. I like the "Mars" model and they look reasonably priced esp considering the tag includes global shipping:

I cannot respect any brand which cannot level its saddles for the photo shoot.

Lol mickle.

+ I thought that the point of wrapping the rear of the frame around the rear wheel was to reduce the number of surfaces that are exposed to wind. If you put such a distinct gap between the tyre and the moulded rear, all that hard work is undone....

The gap isn't as big as it looks. Remember the tyre is black and the bachground is black - the "gap" is actually gap+tyre

What on earth were you searching for to stumble across this? On second thoughts, never mind, I am probably better off not knowing!

  Very good! Walked into that didn't I? I'm actually a "fan" on FB of some "Cycle Chic" blogs usually about slow, utility bikes for towns and cities like in Holland with the emphasis on style and looks rather than sport orientated.

This was in the latest bulletin.

Honest!

Intersting. I thought the purpose of wrapping the rear of the frame around the rear wheel was to reduce chainstay length, wheelbase creating a stiffer ride with more efficient power transfer.....but that was just my guess.

That was certainly the case when seat tubes were round and it is one of the things which drove the move to vertical drop-outs - since they allowed for tighter tolerance. The fact is - if rear tyre clearance is presented as an aero feature its efficiency depends heavily on the shape of the seat tube and to a lesser extent the rim profile. But by the time it gets to the seat tube the airflow is pretty turbulent, and aerofoils don't behave any differently to square bleedin tubes in turbulent air.

So it's fashion. The 'designer' has copied some of the features they seen on nice bikes off of the internet and rendered them poorly.
