Last sportive of the season for me and it's just down the road.
The weather looks like it's going to be ok.
If only their entry webpage was working properly, it would be fine !

Still haven't decided if I want to do the 60 or 95 miler, the reason the latter might be worth it is cause there are no hills of note otherwise apart from at hawkesbury.

My number is 244

Did the 90 mile route in the end, nearly regretted it, those 2 big hills in Wales were pretty tough and my legs just didn't have much in them today?!

Left at just past 8am with the second group and it was a very fast sprint down to the first feed station, I didn't stop. Probably should have. According to my watch I did the 90 miles in 5 hours 40 minutes averaging 15.9mph.

I spent most of the section after the first feed station by myself which made it a very mentally tough ride. That climb at Hawkesbury, even though i've done it loads of times was absolutely epic today absolutely agony!

My first Sportive done, think I prefer Audaxes, but I did find the other cyclists a lot friendlier today. Was a bit peeved to have to pay 50p for a cup of tea at the start considering I paid £25 for entering. Cakes and biscuits at the feed station were good. Generally well organised and the waymarking was excellent. Why are Welsh roads so well tarmacced?

Only opted to do the shorter course, 55.92 miles in 2hrs 56.14 from the official result, averaging 19.1mph, quite happy with that...!!!

Good day, great weather and company - and all this in October too.

Official time for me was 6 hours 1 minute. I think had I done the 55 miles route i'd have done it very quickly as it was a very flat route (apart from Hawkesbury). The Welsh section was just up and down constantly!

The pics are up now as well, they got a pretty good one of me which makes a change!
