This morning I picked up a brand new Sette Reken 18" frame at a church garage sale for $10. I couldn't believe it. Never built up. New new new. I'm going to build it for my wife. I need advice on a couple of things.

Sette's website says "traditional cup" for the headset. Surely, this does not mean the old threaded steerer tube type, right? What do they mean? Threadless will work here? Any recommendations?

And any advice on rigid aluminum forks? Should I go with cromo instead?

Traditional cup just means not an integrated headset imo so an aheadset of some sort in the right size will be fine. I like Cane Creek or FSA if $ are tight unless you want to get really spendy.

A pair of ali forks once put me in hospital. Steel or carbon please.....

I like Cane Creek. I put one in my Surly Troll recently. Threadless, right? I still need to buy forks for this frame. 1 1/8 threadless, right?

Okay, no aluminum. Steel it is!

Thank you, GregCollins! I'm still in shock over the $10 purchase/find. If any more good luck comes my way, there won't be any left for anybody else.
