I need to be able to get my saddle another 20mm back on my seatpost (Shimano XTR which has an off-set clamp of about 15mm), but the Thomson setback which is the standard doesn't look like it offers anything more than posts with an off-set clamp. I've found the FSA sl-250 and Truvativ XR single bolt but neither are available in silver so...

...does anyone know of a seatpost with a fairly hefty setback that comes in silver and hasn't been dicontinued?

Graham, don't know if you found anything but here's something you may need to watch out for. I just got a Truvativ XR 'cos I wanted the extra layback - I found I could get the saddle level. It was tilted forward. The XR has a limited amount of backward tilt adjustment. It couldn't cope with a seat angle of 73-74 deg and the tilt on the rails on a Rolls saddle.

why?

is this a sign that the bike is the wrong size?

or you're a freak?

The latter! I couldn't go any longer on the TT, I'm already using a 60mm stem. I've taken a different approach to deal with my long thighs - moved my cleats back 10mm
