The rear Hub and freewheel of by Bianchi cycle has, as you would expect, got to the point it needs a service.

The Hub is a Reparto Corse unit. I have managed to remove the 10 speed shimano 105 set of cogs but am unable to get into the bearings of either the hub itself or the free wheel. Normally there are two cone screws, either side that you turn but the one side of the hub is tapered, so knowhere to fix to. On the freewheel side there are two nuts, one cone but the inner one is recessed so far into to freewheel housing so no spanner of any type can get to it. I understand some freewheels are not user servicible but I should be able to get to the normal wheel bearings.

I have attached two photos to help explain.

Thanks

Not serviced this pair of hubs but:

Usually where the drive side cone is covered by the freehub shell, the actual preload (ie cone adjustment) is done on the non drive side. To service the hub you therefore need to disassemble starting with the non-drive side.

That black cone shaped bit will be a seal and should pull off.

In my experience these bits are designed not to be serviceable as you say - all this means is that they were designed to be put together and not to be taken apart. The cheapest and easiest way to do this is to make the components really tight fitting so you need to look for bits that should pull apart and then apply a lot of force. I'd start with that black cone seal

All sorted, thanks everyone, done the main bearings but not the internal freewheel.

If I was to buy expensive custom wheels, what would stop me having to replace everything if it happens again ?

There’s some play in my Reparto Corse rear hub bearings. Just wondering if one of the Bianchi experts here can advise how they can be adjusted?
