I have a road bike that has been in storage for a year. It's a Trek from 2010 and it cost me about a grand new. I had to put it in storage because the house I lived in didn't have the space to keep it there. Anyway, now I have it back and want to get on it, one of the break/gear cables has snapped and when I pedal it doesn't feel too good and slips. So it needs fixing. I did use it a lot the summer before, so it is probably due for a service anyway. I just need to have an estimate of how much it's likely to cost to replace any parts. If anyone has any ideas? :-)

Cables are dirt cheap - they won't cost you anything to replace.

Chain and Cassette - £15-£25 chain, Cassette £25-£50. Cables - do the lot about £20-£30. Plus labour. Easy job to do yourself though.

So I'm not looking at anything much over £100 then? That's great, Was worried the parts would be £500 or something crazy. Thanks loads. :-)
