Send a PM icon and others

I've noticed most people have mini icons that you can click to send them a PM (as well as some other icons like blog,friends etc.) displayed under their name. How do you turn this on in your own profile?

No doubt this is blindingly obvious to most but it has me defeated...

I think they are on automatically. It is just it doesn't show on your profile while viewing it as you would not send your self a pm or add yourself as a friend etc. You have three buttons under your name!

Eh ?? I'm missing a button .... or rather you are missing a button each.

You both have 2 buttons - Add as Friend and PM this member.

Where has your third gone ?

The third one is for people's blog. If they haven't got a blog it shouldn't show a button.
