Hi, I'm considering selling my Giant Defy 3, Sadly as I only just bought it before Christmas.

What is the depreciation on road bikes like? what should I try and get for it?

Thanks

Jon

The rule is kind of like 50% off for the first year then 5 to 10% per year but if it is "as new" you can change the 50% to 30%. That is what most bike shops go by!

I'd do some homework on ebay Jon.
Look at newer roadbikes in general, i'm genuinely surprised how much a second hand, but almost new one goes for.
I saw a Bianchi C2C go the other week for not much less than what i paid for mine last year. IIRC, it went for £500 plus a bit. I paid £595 for mine in July last year.
Not that much depreciation there

Daft question..... Why..... ?

Explain, we might offer a solution that doesn't cost....

Second hand, you are looking at at least a 1/3rd drop if new....

People come up with all sorts of formulas but best bet is to try and find similar on ebay and watch it. I bought a Giant TCR C3 3 years ago and sold it 2.5 years old and only lost about £300.

If you adevrtise it well, take lots of good pictures, you'll get a decent price.
