Selby Three Swans Sportive 31st August 2014

The Selby Three Swans Sportive has just been announced for this year it is on the 31st of August.

There are 3 distance options and prices as follows:

160km / 100m £25.00
96km / 60m £20.00
8km / 30m £15.00

I did it last year and it is the best sportive I have done, the signing is excellent there are 4 or 5 food stops with loads of Bananas, oat bars and tubs of haribo and plenty of water to refill bottles. You also get a nice t-shirt and they provide timing chips so you can see what time you did.

Also if you dont like hills last year it was as flat as a flat thing.

too far away for my liking, the 100 mile ride is ok, its the 100 mile drive to get there that I dont like

Yes - it sounds like a nice change from hilly, hilly, hilly. I'm not keen on the 25.00 after the '£' symbol though!

Flat and flat is tiring. There's no descents to coast down to give yourself a break.

I did a 100 km ride out there in 2012 and got the headwind-from-hell riding back to Garforth to catch my train home. Someone got blown out the back of a group of cyclists ahead of me and they were only doing about 7 or 8 mph! Despite their slow speed, it took me a mile to overtake them. .
