Tackle the Via Transilvanica in Romania, way off the beaten track, along rugged trails and across majestic peaks over five days and night in September 2025.

In partnership with The Slow Cyclist we are offering the prospect of exploring a beautiful but less travelled corner of Europe by participating in a once in a lifetime bike ride in Bucovina, Romania. This experience will delight and challenge you as an individual or offer company employees the chance to extend understanding, improve relationships and enhance teamwork whilst raising vital funds for LPFF.

Over five days and five nights, you’ll tackle the northern stretch of Romania’s Via Transilvanica, travelling on foot and by bike, way off the beaten track, along rugged trails and across majestic peaks that take you into the heart of a region that very few get to explore. This isn’t your normal charity ride – you won’t be asked to collect personal sponsorship for covering hundreds of miles with heads down riding. This is a ride of exploration where the unique expertise offered by Slow Cyclists Romanian guides will take you along an off-road track that gives you access to Romania’s farmsteads, historic sites, villages, wildflower meadow, extraordinary landscapes, friendly people and its famous painted monasteries. This trip doesn’t require you to be super fit or an expert Mountain Biker, but it does offer challenge. We will be using electric mountain bikes that will do most of the physical work and you’ll still need to be reasonably fit and confident in riding off road and handling ascents and descents on uneven tracks.

This is a Slow Cyclist Expedition and as such, a little different to their classic journeys. There will still be exceptional attention to detail and you’ll travel in comfort with the support of two guides. But it will be challenging at times. You’ll end the week with a true sense of adventure and accomplishment.

Price:-

The cost of this trip per person for a group of 14 will be £2495. This includes a charitable contribution of £750 to support the work of the LPFF. Once in Romania this is the inclusive price, covering equipment, accommodation, food and internal transfers. This price does not include return airfares to this area of Romania which generally are in the range of £200.
