Does anyone know where I can get security/tamperproof bolts to replace these? Ideally with the same head style.

Any help appreciated.

You could superglue a ball-bearing into each cup. I believe nail varnish remover will get them off again.

Torx (properly called hexalobular) should do the trick as the casual thief will normally only be armed with allen keys if they intend to steal components. Torx will be available in the pan head style to match your existing bolts.

A slightly more secure tamper proof Torx exists but it isn't really any more secure as the special bits required to undo them are almost as easily available to buy as the standard Torx. The tamperproof Torx is also normally only available in a dome head to resist grabbing with mole grips and similar.

Why do you need more secure bolts?

Thanks both.

I've had components stolen off a previous bike so I feel quite concious that it could happen again - piece of mind I guess.

That make sense about at the pan head/mole grips.

You can get hex bolts that are have 7 sides instead of 6. It is quite difficult to tell the difference unless you really look at them and you need a special tool to undo them: a standard allen key would just feel like it is too small despite being the right size.

You can also get a special washer that goes around the head which makes it impossible to use mole grips to undo the bolt.
