Check for the "thatchem" approved stickers on any well known makes., but it depends on if you are carting the lock to work and back or if you can simply leave it there. Strength means weight, a lot of weight. Also check E Bay for used M/cycle locks, [if you can get a £100 lock for £50 why not ?]. One last tip if you use a chain, try to make sure the chain can't be laid on the ground when in use, tricky I know but worth trying to find something high up to chain the bike to. Almost any chain, good or bad can be cut with croppers if they can be braced on the ground and then jumped on, if the theives have to use arms only then the power of the cut is much reduced.

I have one of these, a beast. Was the best reviewed lock when I bought it. It's quite long so easy to use, they do say smaller ones are harder to jack open but it can be like the Krypton factor trying to attach the bike to some stands!

Can ask Evans to price match if wanting to get quickly (and you are close to an Evans)!

I'd also get one of these to attach the other wheel to the stand / frame http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Kryptonite-Kryptoflex-Lock-Cable_15458.htm

Oh and make sure the bike is insured, nothing is ultimately thief proof

Cheers for the advice totally off topic but you didn't own an mr2 did you there was a vickster on the mr2 owners club

Very wise, can always look things up online in store on phone

This is regarded as one of the best locks, but it is someway over budget and IMO a fiddly little beast!

Wow, that's gone up a lot. I ordered it from them on the 14 February (Valentines day!) for £66. Later price matched with Evans for the same when my order was delayed.
