Well after a few 2-3 miles trips I have pushed myself today and cycled to Ferry Meadows. Nearly 6 miles on a variety of roads, cycle paths and cycle tracks. Just sitting and enjoying the view at the moment. Gonna to have a cycle around in a bit, I think all in should be close to 18 miles today which as fatty beginner I am quite proud of!

:welcome: Hi. Welcome to the forum. Dont try to do to much. Its all, about enjoyment and having fun. Take it steady. It isn't a race to go faster and further and in less time.

enjoyment is the most important thing. Good luck.

Well 18 was optimistic. I figure it worked out at about 14 miles. It was hard work, I ache and I'm sweaty but I loved it.
It will get better the more you do, the ache is likely to be micro damage to muscles but these will repair and be strong/fitter, but do rest when its really bad as this is as important as the actual riding, usually 2-3 days.
It will have been difficult in this wind today, if your struggling in the wind just lower the gearing and spin, you can't beat the wind but you can make good head way.
