I'm having a second steroid injection in my shoulder joint tomorrow.
I had the first one 6 weeks ago and I think I have more movement in the joint than I previously did.
The pain is a bit less, although I still can't sleep on it and I have to be careful what I lift and how I move it.
It doesn't stop me cycling but it would be nice to get rid of the pain!

best wishes...

I get to spend the entire day in hospital tomorrow with them running off with my blood every hour to see how well my body is absorbing the steroids I have to take and to see if the amount I take is enough (which I don't think it is)... So I get to sit in a ward (chairs not beds) all day with no windows and be bored stiff... 8am to 6pm... oh coy to I hope one of my 2 3G options can get a signal! (I have already checked I can take the laptop in with me.)

Thanks guys.
Actually after I had it done last time the pain disappeared and it almost felt normal!
That didn't last long
They did say that it could take months or years to clear!

I had to have 3 before mine settled itself down but all ok now (me thinks I should not just have typed that) I think you will be fine in a short while !

How is it now ?

You can usually only have 3 injections a year !
I was told they would only give me two injections.
This second one is working quite well. I can wash and brush my hair and tie it back...I couldn't do that even after the first one.
The movement is still limited but the pain is less although I still can't lie on it.
I've to go back in 4 months to see how I'm doing.

Does it make a big difference?

I had a shoulder impingement about a year ago and couldn't do any kind of pushing or pressing exercises for about six months, my doctor was talking about me having one.

By the time I had been refered and eventually got to see a specialist it had started to ease a bit, and he mentioned it but said he'd send me for physio first.

I'm still waiting to be contacted for a physio appointment, good job it cleared up on it's own.
