Seat post

Accidentally, I have damaged my seat post by it moving down while I was riding, it hadn't been tightened fully, leaving unsightly scratches and patterns. Apart from buying a new seat post, any suggestions on how to get rid of the marks?

Wet 'n' dry then Solvol Autosol and elbow grease.

Heat shrink sleeving around the exposed portion. Cheap, comes in loads of colours.

It would be a good idea to get the seat tubes cleaned/ reamed - there can be tiny little burrs where the tubes join that cause this problem. A decent LBS should be able to do this for you for a small cost. This would avoid any future problems
