Right, the bike I bought last year was a Spesh Sirrus , the frame was small and I'm 5'11'' so it was quite a bit small (bought it on C2W and Halfords refused to change it as it wasn't one of theirs). This year I want to buy a bike that will fit and I'm getting a Subway either 1 or 2
I want my Mrs to have the Sirrus the only trouble is when I lower the seat to its lowest setting it is still a bit high. There is plastic tubing around the seat post which restricts the level. Would it be okay for me to cut this so I can lower the seat a bit more or does this serve a purpose apart form taking the rear light etc?
Cheers

a picture to be sure but I can't imagine it's anything other than cosmetic or as you say, for some sort of mount

Is this the suspension seat post?

Bin it

As tynan says, a pic would be helpful before we tell you to hack it away.

If it's a suspension post then you can't lower it any more....don't think they are on the Sirrus though are they?

It was on mine and it were shite not very well made. It didn't take long for it to display a worrying amount of lateral play in the gubbins.

The shop swapped it out FOC.

One was on my '06 Sirrus, if so there's no harm swapping it for a rigid one which will fit her.

I'm not surprised the OP finds it small, I'm 5'9" and Ive got a medium frame; yet another poor show from hellfrauds.
