I did a glorious 33 miles around a sunny Portsmouth and Hayling Island, was probably the most enjoyable ride I've had in my one months cycling career.

I hope you all have had equally nice rides this weekend  I would love to hear about them.

I had a very enjoyable 43 mile outing yesterday. Out to Carrickfergus Castle then back to Belfast and a loop around the Titanic area before heading to Holywood Exchange. Came back to Belfast the same way and stopped at the cafe at the Titanic's dry dock for a cuppa before heading home.

Looks glorious

3 rides today, up with the birds as usual, lovely sunrise. Then early morning (kids off to a party) sunny and crisp. Then out with the kids this afternoon for a nice gentle spin along the rainbow path and back, although the kids no longer believe me when I say the wind will be being on the way back, used the excuse on the way out too many times.

Was a glourious day today. Did a 64 mile route criss crossing the Island a couple of times. There was a noticeable increase in cyclists compared to a couple of weeks ago when it was degrees and blowing a gale. Still seemed to be headwinds the whole way though!!

Literally every time I go over a bridge to and island and back (Eastern Road, Pompey and the one to Hayling Island) there is a head wind. I can't understand it, I'd love to say I'm just going so fast that it's air resistance I am feeling but it's just not true. No idea if the wind is switching over in the few hours between going over in each direction but its hard work!

Agree on the cyclists, lots of roadies out plus the families and more casual riders.

I share the contentment of the OP. Yesterday was amazing. My 4th "big ride" ever, involved a lap of Hanningfield reservoir from my home in Rayleigh
Was amazed at the number of other riders out of the road. We outnumbered the cars by 10:1!

Did a relatively low 26 mile route in 1hour 20 mins which I was pleased with. Will do another lap next time to get the miles up. Hoping to do my first 50+ soon. Got the Chelmsford Countryside and London to Southend rides coming up in the summer, so need to get some miles on the board before then.

The photos of Pompey look great, but the coast often makes for a windy ride in my very limited experience ;-)

Ooh Hayling Island! I spent some lovely family holidays there when I was a kid, in a ramshackle bungalow, and have happy memories of the muddy creek at low tide. I must go back one day - you've inspired me! Maybe we can get StuAff to organise a CC ride .

+1 from me!
