Scratches & blemishes

Any ideas if this will work getting rid of scratches and blemishes from my frame? If not has anyone got any tips for it?

First,polish the frame,second touch it in withe either paint,or nail varnish.

It won't get rid of deep scratches but should put a shine back on places where the paint has dulled due to cable rub etc. go too heavy and it'll take the paint off.

Have tried similar products and basically they work on light blemishes/scratches but

a) those types of blemish are not unsightly so probably won't need doing

and

b) Deep scratches which do look a mess need filling in, colouring and a clear top coat applying - which that product doen't do.

I presume you were looking at nail varnishesNot a bad idea TBH.

The last touch up paint I bought was a tin of Humbrol Enamel, you can get it from Hobbycraft these days which means as grumpy said, you can take your forks in to match if need be.

Humbrol enamel (don't get the water based ones) or touch up brushes from Halfords - '000s of colours.

Humbrol enamel comes in a very limited range of colours but nail varnish comes in a massive range of colours especially if you have a red bike. Everybody knows red bikes go faster as well.

Buying red nail varnish was embarrassing because the Boots assistant thought I was a tranny and my little flake of red frame paint stuck to some Sellotape was just a ruse.

It seems Boots/Superdrug will be my next stop

See if you can take the bike frame with you - what looks like the right match in the shop will be wrong once you've painted it on and another thing I learned...... they WON'T let you change it! Apparently some people like to buy a bottle, use some then take it back. Who'd have thunk it!
