Scratched rims

It may sound silly, but i got a stone caught in my brake block a while back, only noticed it when i gently applied brakes going downhill and heard the noise.

Since then I have been going through brake rubber like i got shares in it or something. It seems that the added roughness on the rim is just scraping rubber,.

Would any one know if it is possible to fix this or am I looking at a new rim?

currently using Bontrager SSR that came with my bike.

If it's damaging the brake block, it sounds as if it's quite deep or has a rough edge somewhere. If it were mine, I'd feel around the rim for any roughness and if there is any, I smooth it of gently with a bit of fine grade sandpaper.

+1 but do it by hand so you can see what you are doing.

cool, will try that the weekend. Was worried it may do _something_ bad to the integrity of the wheel.
