scratched paint

Bike fell over yesterday and scratched paint on white forks. Any advice on how to touch up , what paint etc

Let the bike wear the battle scars with pride. Seriously though try contacting the manufacturers to see what they suggest. If the bike is steel put some Vaseline over the scratch to prevent corrosion.

Mine fell over on Friday and put a scrape in the top tube - I took comfort from the wise words of the Surly Blog:


"A pristine bike free of dirt, scratches, and wear marks makes me sort of sad."

Either buy some modelling enamel (Humbrol) or a car touch up that's a close match. Also, give the area a polish first, this should take out some of the scratch, and you might not need a touch up unless it's gone through to the material underneath.

Wrap some gaffer tape round the forks if your worried about it.

get some color touch up or at bare minimal put some clear lacquer or even clear nail varnish over it to stop any corrosion.
