booze and cake
probably out cycling
I met my Dad in London yesterday. He was recently doing some work for an elderly lady and had mentioned that I was interested in cycling, and she gave my Dad a hand written letter and some photocopies of some pics about her family connection with cycling dating back to 1890. She also gave me a new book released to coincide with Hull's City of Culture award which contains a pic of an old 5 seater bicycle also made by her family.
I hope you can read these OK, if not let me know and I'll type it out.

Here are the pics, love the handlebars, what super cool dude. The CTC badge that opens like a locket is classy, they don't make em like that anymore... I'm guessing. I'm also guessing my letter writing hero Ann is the baby in mums arms in the family photo.

Here's brother Lionel also rolling on a super cool looking motorbike (I don't know anything about old motorbikes, anyone have any guesses what that is? Hard from the blurry photo I guess)

And finally here is the pic of the 5 seater, looks fast and terrifying, look at the size of the stokers chainring?!
I loved it. I was so touched I'm going to be writing her a thank you letter. I was'nt really able to find out much else from my internet searching, so wondered if anyone had any more info on this or any other bicycles the company/family made? Or maybe someone owns a Scout or knows someone that does, or if there's any on display anywhere? Long shot I know…..I'd love to write back to her and include some extra info if possible. If not, its interesting and thought I'd share, and thank you Ann, your family rock!
