Depends on what you want to use it for and the terrain you'll be riding it on.
The sub 30 is 3lb lighter, but the Sportster has 700c wheels...For my personal commute I'd pick the cheaper bike if my only choices were these two.

100% road use.. I like the Sub as it seem to have better components on it than the sportster and I want ridged forks. you do have a choice of wheels, obversely I'm going for the 700cc model

I have a Sub20 and it does just what I wanted it to do: short commute, short shopping, converted railways and canal paths, leisure riding with grandsons etc. I also have a TREK 1.2 for pure road use.

I have changed the Scott tyres to 1.5" semi slicks (sorry can't remember what they are without going out to the shed) and it rides very well. I bought it with 26" wheels because it wasn't available at the time with 700c. Wish I'd waited 3 months really.
