Scott Sportster P5 Deore rear derailleur

Hi, Im Darren and have just joined this site. I have just purchased a new P5 scott hybrid and am thinking of improving the rear derailleur. Would like to put a Deore product on, maybe XT or LX or SLX? Does anybody know what would fit well and how easy it is to change. Currently have acera 8 speed.

Is the current derailleur not working ? To be honest unless you are changing the whole groupset I can see little benefit of just changing the rear derailleur and I doubt you would notice any difference.
