I have an old Shwinn Paramount with the serial number M918 stamped on the dropout. My dad bought the frame new in late 50's or early 60's and was put together in the early 70's with all Campagnolo parts. It was ridden for a while then put in storage. I don't have time for the TLC it needs nor the space to keep it. I have had it for some time now and would like to move it along to someone that would appreciate it. The serial number didn't match up with any I could find on the web, maybe because it was bought as a frame only? If anyone could date this and give me an approximate value it would be greatly appreciated. I am located in central CA

Not sure about the whole bike, but the Nuovo record groupset I've seen on a quick search on ebay for aroun $700. If you get the bike cleaned and do some basic restoration work I reckon probably around $1000 if not more - retro bikes are quite popular so in good condition it might fetch quite a bit.

Going back into the 50's is a little problematic due to lack of information. But it seems, but I'm not sure, that the M code was first used in 1965, later they changed the codes, so that M represented being made in December.

However, the color of the bike and the decal matches those in 1966 to 67 but may have had a few of that color made in 1965, maybe the last of the 1965 models that came off the line for that year.

So I'm guessing it was a 1965 year model that had the newer Royale Blue paint and the panel decal.
