Merlin cycles currently have an offer on these. Just purchased two of these tyres. Free postage on orders of £20, so adding a tube or whatever to the order gets you free postage. Easy to take on & off with plastic levers.

On my Durano raceguards I find that I can invariably get the tyre back on completely by using my hands only. They are the folding type, so in fairness the rims of the tyre will probably be more flexible than the non-folding type of tyres. Very helpful if you need to mess about changing a tube on a winter`s day outdoors.

The short answer is , no, they don't all need a metal lever, some need no levers at all, however seeing as we are all different , just because one person can manage it , it doesn't mean everyone can.

This, I have durano wired 32mm tyres, never used a metal tyre lever (mine are plastic) and I have feeble hands but still get the tyres without levers (do need to get them off though, as any tyre)

I can understand that.

On the MTB that I used to have the 1.75 tyres rarely needed any tyre levers. Seemed to be very soft rubber on the edges, plus maybe a wider tyre is easier.
