Does anyone know why this would not imply a lifetime ban given it's a second offence ?

It bloody should do, but it's not a doping offence as such, rather working with someone who is banned themselves.

Somewhat interesting. Anyone seen the original article? Wouldn't mind reading it in italian.

The reason I ask is I translated the other article in the other thread that was very interesting and found a few small bits missed out. Unfortunately my translation was completely pants and not much better than google translator's . Still, interesting to read a higher up/more original source.

Without Scarper's points, Lampre may lose their status in the top tier of teams ( i forget what the level is officially called)

Obviously not! We rely on you to keep us up to pace with the fast-moving world of cycling penalties. I can only speculate that he's trying to get the case dealt with before the Italian federation disciplinary people read the bit in the Padua transcripts about 'if you'd had another bag'. I suppose if it is treated as a non-doping offence, six months might be appropriate... but, of course, it isn't.

EDIT: and of course it would be the height of injustice if he got six months whilst Bassons gets 12.
