To sum up (from previous posts)................
Thule wont fit my car..........2012 plate Astra.
Just about to "push the button" for the Saris 2 bike when I noticed..........the 2 bike type only has the one "support leg" at the top whereas the 3 bike has 2 at top & bottom..........it looks more sturdy ???

I dont need the 3 bike carrier.
It is some £20.00 extra.....................BUT
if it is noticeably better then I will go for that.

No-one around Warrington seems to stock Saris so as to go and touch it.

I would touch base with the folks at Saris -online or phone. They were very helpful when I needed to make a decision about my rack. I also know them from their very active role they play in making bicycling better for all of us. (They host a major fundraiser for the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin) If your experience turns out like mine, you will get very good information allowing you to make a good decision.

I e-mailed Saris a year ago with a query. Still waiting for a reply.

I have the Saris 2 and it does the job. My only worry is that it is easy to put on and to take off the car - by anyone. Perhaps paranoid but I drive to my destination take off the bikes and stow the Saris in the car.

You can look on their site and it has a drop down telling you if it fits your car. Agree with @ayceejay re if it a bit too easy o remove, so i store it in the boot when parked
