Hi,

I have recently started using a fairly new bike; the thing is the saddle is really painful and seems to go in between my sitting bones :/ i have even put a gel cover on it and it still hurts! Does anyone have any advice on how to select a new, more comfortable saddle? I just use my bike for getting to and from work and the occasional cycle ride around the park.

Tia

Just stick with the one you've got. Eventually you'll damage all the nerve endings and you won't feel a thing :okay:

Have you definitely got the saddle level and not at some odd angle? Also are you using padded shorts. If new to cycling, unfortunately your derrière may just need to toughen up a bit

If you are sure it is inbetween your sit bones, then you definitely have an issue - either the saddle is too narrow or you are sitting on the nose of the saddle. A gel cover will just cause further problems. Once you have measured your sit bones you can go saddle shopping.
