I am thinking of getting a Carradice Barley saddlebag.
I can't decide whether to get a SQR system or a Bagman QR sport rack to go with it.
Does anyone have any advice?

How much spare seatpost have you got showing? You need quite a bit to fit an SQR system, far more than Carradice say. I tried fitting an SQR system to my various bikes but none of them had enough post to mount it on without fouling top and bottom.

Would a Barley need a support? It's a pretty small bag, and unless your saddle is REALLY low, I can't see that you'd need it, tbh.

I'd try the bag first and see what you reckon - once you have an idea about how it sits on the bike, you can look at your options for mounting it.

Because the Barley's small I found it ended up too far under my saddle (Brooks) and was almost horizontal rather than vertical once attached to the seat-post without some kind of stand-off device. I ended up with the SQR system and my LBS tried it on my bike for fit before I bought it.
It's a very good solution ad works a treat with the Barley as well as a Camper longflap size bag. The real benefit is that it takes seconds to fit and remove which is very useful and is easy to carry. In addition you can have multiple mounting blocks on other bikes for easy transfer.
The only slight downside is that a big heavy bag can swing a bit more when say honking up a big hill, on my 2 day trips I add bungee cord for a bit of extra stability. But the Barley's never gonna be too heavy.
One of my better purchases!

I have about 110mm showing. Is this enough?

my barley is cable tied to the saddle and rests on the rack without issue. Some people line the inside with estate agent board material to keep the base flat. i like the idea of the sqr but then i see the price!
