Saddle size

Is there a way to work out what length saddle i need, been looking at a specialised taupe but not sure what length to get? Any advice appreciated.

Length or width - I assume the latter?

Specialzed concept stores have an arse measuring machine and will tell you which is best

Length or width is of far less importance than overall saddle shape. Unfortunately, trying saddles for any length of time is not easy to arrange without shelling out a bit of cash. Last time I went saddle shopping I took a punt on a Selle Italia SLR, I must have been lucky with the choice because I've never felt the need to try anything else and that was donkeys ago.
