saddle discomfort

Like all deserving cyclists, I wear padded shorts on my ride but after 10 miles or so, I start shifting frequently on the saddle as I begin to feel uncomfortable in the groin region. Is there different thicknesses of paddings for shorts? Should I buy more expensive ones in the hope that they will be more comfortable?
One pair came from Lidle and th eother form Halfords.

DHB from wiggle are well regarded and pretty cheap, just got my first pair and after my 30 mile ride last weekend i was fine.

Could also be your seat doesn't suit you, i have the also well regarded Charge Spoon on my best bike which is much more comfortable for me the the boardman saddle on my commuter. May not suit you but at around£20 it won't cost much to try it.

they are definitely different. my expensive gaerne (sp?) are orders of magnitude better than the decathlon ones I have
