I have never tried a very flat saddle but I'd like to try one to see what is like.

Most of my saddles are brooks, however, on my SS I have a charge spoon and in all honesty we are not getting along too well  so I'm thinking to try a very flat saddle.

Can anybody recommend one? Or perhaps just comment on their experience on such a type of saddle?

It cannot be too narrow as my seat bones are 130mm apart

Thanks in advance

Anybody used a flat saddle? I remember seeing two that looked interesting, a saddle de italia (not sure if that is the name) and a specialized saddle but I don't know the models nor I have any references on them.......

I use a Specialized Toupe & my behind loves it.

Any good LBS would let you try one for a week or so, go and ask.

Mine let me try 2 before I made up my mind.

You really dont want to spend £ ??? on a saddle and not like it.

Good luck.

Selle Italia Flite classic is flatter and was always a respected saddle. They come up on Eblag a lot.

Me too!

The sadlles I had were both Specialized Rivals that came with the bikesm rgwt seem well padded so "looked" comfy, but they kick up towards the rear and have a rounded profile. The result was (possibly due to the shape of my sit-bones) that I kept being pushed forward. I even got a zero offset setpost and put the saddle all the way to the front and still slip forwards! I tried raising the nose, but that just resulted in unpleasantness in other areas.

The Toupe has some gel padding, but most of the comfort comes from my sit bones being on something flat, and the shell underneath does flex. All in all, very happy. They do 3 versions, £60 for normal rails, £80 for titainium and £100 for carbon rails. I have the normal rails and couldnt really justify the extra for the others.
