Rydal sportsman

I am need of help a friend of mine has a Rydal sportsman that he wants to put back on the road does anyone know anything about these bikes as I cant find anything (sorry no pics).
he thinks it is Italian and is probably about 70s as it has cotter pin cranks
any help would be much appriecated

The name has a ring of Littlewoods / Empire Stores catalog bikes from the 1970's.

If it was a catalogue special you'd have thought there'd be something out there about it, after all they must've sold a few. Anyway, just a quick look should tell you if it's worthy of attention
