Hi,

ordered a bike box from them on the 28th April. On there site they were in stock and once paid for would be posted out by the next working day. So today still no show even though i had called them 5 TIMES trying to chase up the order. Well i go on holiday wednesday and still no show. Called them today and they now say they posted it and DHL have lost it !!!???? BULL S**T!!!! instead of telling me they havent got them and refunding my money they have fobbed me off trying to tell me rubbish. PLEASE YOU GUYS BE AWARE OF THIS SHOP IS ABSOLUTLY USELESS AND WOULD NEVER USE THEM AGAIN !!!! plus there telling me they will refund my money within 28 days. JOKE pissed off big time and probably ruined my cycling holiday as i cant get another delivered in time!

In the interests of balance, I've never had a problem with Rutland Cycling. Helpful on the phone too.

Did you purchase on your credit card? Just claim the cost back through them and they'll do the chasing.

I've also never had any issues with them but never bought a bike from them either
.
Also if the OP did pay on a CC it could take longer to claim back from the CC than Rutland as they generally have to investigate the purchase.
When i tried to make a claim against a purchase I made on my CC they said I would still have to pay the monthly bill as the claim most likely wouldn't be settled for around 6 weeks.

Both not good enough for the OP if they were planning to use the new bike on the cycling holiday.

Not much help for getting the item in time I know, but I would be asking for the DHL tracking number and checking with DHL to see if they are in fact lying or not.

Seems you are not the only one. (been mentioned in other forums) Apparently they are not yet running a live stock system.

In their T&C's - "Please note: All Website and Mail Order payments are taken in full at the point of purchase regardless of stock."

If rutland cycling is cheaper than evanscycle, just do a price match with evanscycle... I did that the other day. Just a tip

Never had a peroblem with Rutland Cycles. I called to order a centre pull adaptor for a trailgator. they sdaid they would check their supplier had them before taking my money. they called back and advised supplier had nonme it could be 6-8 weeks. the nice guy suggested a work around by changing the centre pull brake for a V brake . I had a older kids bike so took the brake off that . it works. net result = Rutland lost one sale but have made themselves No1 choice for purchases in the future. net result = possibility of lots of Money

Well, I've also had trouble from Rutland in the past. However, I wouldn't go rushing off to the likes of Evans as they can be useless too!

The worst service I've ever had has come from Ribble Cycles, J.E. James, Fatbirds and Deeside Cycles (aka Graham Weigh Cycles).

The best has to be Wiggle but CRC have never caused much trouble either and Parkers are generally good too.

Wiggle are certainly not cheap these days but their customer service is second to none IMO.
