rusty spokes

yes i'm sure this is a great sin for not looking after my baby and someone on here will contact the royal association for the protection of bikes!
but my spokes are showing small amounts of surface rust should i care about this what should i do should i rebuild wheels with new spokes and nipples?

id not be over worried, I'd imagine before too long you'll be breaking spokes - when that time arises I'd either get them rebuilt with stainless steel spokes or get new wheels.

If you can rebuild wheels then go for it. However, in the good old days of steel rims and spokes a little wad of wire wool with some oil would make short work of a bit of surface rust so I guess it would still work on steel spokes nowadays.

Rusty spokes are indicative of cheap wheels so not really worth replacing the spokes. Maybe think about better wheels or just live with it!

but i'm saving for a garmin edge touring at the moment and to build a trailer and to build a recumbent and a scooter and to build a new forge and to buy a new set of wheels and to buy a new bike and to buy a new saddle and LOADS ELSE!
