New purchase. Hopefully a nice new addition to the collection. A late 50's Rudge Pathfinder Gran Prix. I haven't picked it up yet but hopefully it will clean up nicely

That looks very nice, if that seat tube angle was any more relaxed it'd fall over!

Nice patina, is it going to be a general clean up keeping the original paintwork or full restore job?
Excuse my lack of knowledge, what is the rod running parallel to the seat tube for?

I am just going to give it a thorough clean up and keep it all original. I wouldn't dream of repainting this as that would totally devalue it imo.

Mine is the Rudge version of the Raleigh Grand Prix. There is a Raleigh one on ebay now. I hope mine cleans up as well as that one.
