Rubbing noise from drivetrain

I've been having real difficulty with shifting on my Hybrid so replaced the chain & cassette.

The result is the shifting is much better but not 100% but now there's a rubbing noise which sounds like the chain is rubbing against the cassette so now I'm wondering if the freehub is buggered.

Anyone have any other ideas??

Have you used the correct speed chain?

when you changed the cassette, did you remember to put the spacer back on the hub if it had one?

No spacer, I'm wondering if it's not the chainring.
