I changed the tube on the front wheel, when I put the wheel back on it was rubbing against the brake block. What have I done wrong and how do I fix it?

Could be a number of things.

Most likely: tyre hasn't seated properly. Take it off and put talc around the bead of the tyre, and put back on, checking that it's in properly all the way round.

Could also be: brakes knocked out of alignment a bit. Have a check, might just be skewed.

Or: wheel not in dropouts properly (not that likely), but check anyway, one small gap and it could be completely out.

Thanks Radius
I think the mistake I made was I didn't free the brake blocks and just forced the wheel between them when putting it back on?

Yes could be that, if you didn't undo the quick release (assuming it's a road bike, or a bike with caliper brakes that have a release) then you could have skewed the blocks when putting the wheel back in
