I've purchased mk2's did a bit of fettling I put them on and now I'm getting tyre rub by the brake callipers I've got 25c on does this mean Id better ff with 23c I knew it would be right fit ?

If so, what tyres can you recommend? I have conti gators spare (one) but I need a white or red tyre hence why I won't use the contis

I know you mean Crud Roadracer Mk 2 mudguards, though many people wouldn't!

My 25Cs wouldn't clear my RRs, so I switched back to 23C and had just enough clearance. (Michelin Krylions, though I now use Lithions.) Your bike might have a little more clearance than mine or maybe less. Some bikes just won't get on with the Cruds. Check that you have at least 5 mm clearance by sliding a 5 mm allen key between your brake callipers and the tyres. If you do, then you can get the RRs in but the adjustment can be fiddly. If you have less than 4 mm, I doubt that you could ever eliminate the rubbing.

I decided to ditch my mk2s. They are great in the rain, I didnt get any rub. But they were great mud collectors and drag inducers. Did my head in.
I had that experience too, so I got into the habit of hosing under them after each mucky ride - that minimised the problem. Another trick is to ride through shallow puddles from time to time to achieve the same result. (Deep puddles hide potholes ...)

+1
Amazing the amount of "crud " gets stuck under the gaurds, i recently moved from mk1 to mk2 and the amount of muck that now gathers on the chainstay bridge rather than hitting the front mech makes your realize how much muck is about.
The type of tyre also makes a difference, i was running some blizzard sports and they always rubbed even using 23`s whereas switching back to gatorskins eliminated it .

If I put conti hard shells On reckon that'll work? I'll need to take em off my other bike worth the hassle? I'm tryna chase down a pair of rubinos but to no affect

Update.

I took the conti hardshells off the n bike and put them on. No rub now. Though I am missing a screw to attach a front piece to the front mudguard
