Route planning in Kent

Kent has plenty of great cycling. Lots of hills, mainly of the short & sharp kind, and plenty of flatlands.

I just came across a useful online route planning resource. Although the mapping may be slightly out of date.

The first ever OS map was “An Entirely New & Accurate Survey Of The County Of Kent” in 1801. It's on line here http://mapco.net/kent1801/kent1801.htm

Really like that. Found the road I live in, but no sign of any houses. The landscape must have been so different.

I live in a field. This may explain why delivery vans have so much difficulty finding my address.

Seems I live in a field as well. Many of the main roads are in exactly the same place as today, though.
