Route maps - London/S East

I'm wondering how do I find out about the 'best' routes to take for cycling, interesing routes for leisure etc.

I tend to cycle the routes I drive unless I know of particular short cuts/paths. I did the Thames Bridges ride a few weeks back and that took me through parts of London I never knew existed! Certainly some paths which I wouldn't have found or realised that were cycle paths.

Are there any recommended books, aps or anything, particularly for the London and South areas?

There are a good few groups who organise rides in SE London.

Lewisham Cyclists
Southwark Cyclists
Greenwich Cyclists

All organise some good rides

Then there is the LCC which lists rides including those from above

You may also want to check out the CC & Informal Rides section of this very forum.
Especially the Sunday London Rides from Hyde Park @9.30am. Check here for updates. There will be a nice
one on the 10th July. These are at a nice pootle conversational pace for a few hours.
